Independent living is geared towards healthy, active seniors who want to enjoy an all-inclusive lifestyle without the burdens of home maintenance.
Assisted living provides an all-inclusive lifestyle with as much independence as possible with the knowledge that personal care and support services are available if needed. Assisted living is for seniors who are medically stable and need some assistance with ADLs (activities of daily living) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, medication management, and more.
Enhanced assisted living provides everything available in assisted living as well as additional services to permit assisted living residents to “age in place”. The substantially higher level of care helps bridge the gap between assisted living and a skilled nursing home.
Adult day care is designed to provide care and companionship for seniors who need assistance or supervision during the day.
Memory care is for adults with cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia who need assistance or supervision during the day. It is similar to adult day care, but offers a higher staff-to-resident ratio and more specialized activities in a secure environment with “wander” safeguards.
Respite care is for short-term stays (7-60 days) in assisted living, enhanced assisted living, or memory care environments.
