Worship and spiritual well-being

Research shows that there is a positive relationship between religion and physical health. Religion offers a way to express spirituality with social support, security, a sense of belonging through religious affiliations, and is significant in coping with age related changes. (Garrett, 1998)

One of the unique amenities at The Legacy is live-in chaplains and interfaith chapels at every Legacy community. Legacy’s chaplains offer kind and thoughtful spiritual guidance and emotional support to Legacy residents and their families. Because they live in the communities they serve they come to know their fellow residents personally and are able to share their joys and sorrows on a deeper level.

Open to all, The Legacy senior living communities’ chapels offer a peaceful haven for reflection and worship amidst the activities of daily life. The chapels also serve as a place of community worship for residents. The number and types of services that are offered at each Legacy location are determined by the interests and desires of the residents. Services range from Catholic mass and communion, to nondenominational, to Shabbat services. Many communities also have Bible study and rosary gatherings or groups that get together for mindfulness meditation.
